Games: Shooters lead the way again for Australia

Australia's shooters have continued their Commonwealth Games medal haul, with newly-naturalisedAustralian LALITA YAUHLEUSKAYA and army rifleman TIM LOWNDES taking gold.

YAUHLEUSKAYA added another gold medal to her Commonwealth Games tally by winning thewomen's 10m air pistol final.

And LOWNDES has won his second gold medal of the Games by taking out the men's 50mrifle prone singles event.

RUSSELL MARK has won a silver medal for Australia in the men's double trap singles.

Meanwhile, Australian light heavyweight boxer BEN MCEACHRAN has had to settle for bronzeafter a cut eye stopped him in his semi final fight.

In the pool, world backstroke champion MATT WELSH has been sensationally disqualifiedin the 200m backstroke heats.

But West Australian teenager JENNIFER REILLY, who was reinstated to the 200m individualmedley placings, has received her silver medal in a special ceremony.

IAN THORPE, who has already won three gold medals, has easily qualified fastest forthe 100m freestyle semi-finals, clocking 49.76s.

And PETRIA THOMAS will feature in the upcoming 100m freestyle semis together with compatriotsJODIE HENRY and SARAH RYAN.

At the velodrome, Australia will go head to head with England for the gold in the men's4000m Team Pursuit.
